Why don’t we just recycle it in prisons? There are many idiots doing nothig in there, and we feed and clothe because they stole something or killed someone(got the logic?). Why aren’t they donig this job? No super expensive equipment or specialized qualification is needed, just facemask and some source of heat, chances of them sabotaging or really screwing up something are minimal, watching over them would be easy, and the work would be in plentiful supply for the next at least 50 years.

The fact is that it would be better to simply throw ewaste into landfill, than to recycle it. But don’t tell that to Greenpeace.

You can prevent this by DDing for electronics in the garbage and keeping them out of the landfills and protecting the environment. either salvage stuff you can fix up and use or bring it to a proper E-Waste center for proper recycling.

I live in the UK and recycle electronics, there are ways to do this alot safer but its time consuming. Burning is very dangerous BUT if they dont burn off they will get a higher price for the metal.

That’s a big over simplification of what’s happening here. From what I understand India has many poor people, and I doubt good jobs are abundant. It’s obvious they’re doing this because they have to, and not because they want to.

Congratulations, because you are current customer, YOU qualify for a FREE upgrade on your mobile phone! All you need to do is commit to a two year contract (throw away your old cell phone every two years)! Your old mobil phone or computer still works, doesn’t it? Oh, but the new programs require much more energy and sophistications, and don’t work on older models – besides, they’re incompatible (programmed obsolescence)!

When a dog licks up anti-freeze you leave laying around.. its your fault, not the dog’s fault. When Indians start burning circuit boards, it’s not your fault, it’s their own fault.

The Greenpeace activists unfortunately do not realise what the real problem is. IF YOU REALLY WANT TO PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT YOU NEED TO ADDRESS THE ROOT CAUSES OF THIS CORRUPTION! The economic system itself is the problem! Activism WITHIN the system is pointless!

In India, and especially New-Delhi, this is even MORE DANGEROUS than in China or Ghana. Are you aware of that people? Indians DRINK the water from the Ganges in order to “heal themselves”. But if gallons of toxic waste are flowing into the ganges, the Indians dig their own grave within few years!!! Not even he 3rd generation from now will be able to compensate what we’re polluting and destroying now.
