@SuperSmasher97 there is a house where i get them for free, i get atleast 190 to a thousand a week, most worth keeping and re-installing or for a nice test speaker, my best lone so far away is a 12 inch alnico magnet fullrange speaker that works fine, since the speaker was in a cut off chamber, no sunlight hit it, no cracks or whatever thing, its 32 ohms, from an carlson stromberg tv with blown tubes, :)

He has no thought what he is even talking about. There is no such thing as “Plotted Obsolescence”, and that all CRT’s are doomed. As far away as I’m concerned, he is some ancient guy who want’s nothing to do with modern technology and prefers to live in the stone age of electronics.

He certainly is slow. All of my TV’s are CRT (5 of them) and they all work wonders with the converter boxes. Just because Analog is dead doesn’t mean that an ancient CRT TV should be.

CRT’s are a lot more heavier than what LCD TV’s/monitors are and have a far away shorter lifetime due to burn-in and other factors. CRT’s are not exactly cheaper than an LCD right flat panel show. Which would you rather own, a piss poor CRT or a LCD HDTV with much more features?

@746c, stop using offensive language! Go sit in front of your CRT, use tapes for data storage. May be you can also consider to change your multicore cpu with a 486dx. Don’t forget to throw away your ipod!

  13. CrazyHorseInvincible says:

Read your definition of plotted obsolescence over again and apply it to both CRTs and the analog to digital conversion examples you moronically gave. If you don’t upgrade from CRT to LCD, the consequence is…drumroll…continuing to use your CRT with PCs that are subdue compatible. Forced upgrade: none. The upgrade from analog to digital is, sorry to say, forced…which would get on to a difference if the converter wasn’t offered free of fucking charge. A further lone that doesn’t meet the definition.

  14. 746c says:

You obtuse idiot. Do you even know what plotted obsolescence is? People upgrade because they have no scale. If they don’t pay, they don’t get to delight in the lugsuries they’ve had for over 50 years. Media and commercial are just a further way for corperations (that’s right, corporations not companies) to get people to do what they want. They sought after people to get used to diskes instead of cassets, so the introduced DVD, then quickly Blueray. You are obtuse for not seeing any of this.

  16. CrazyHorseInvincible says:

Holy jesus, you’re goddamn slow. The analog to digital conversion is a further example of what plotted obsolescence is NOT. The analog to digital converters were FREE for all consumers in the united states exactly to avoid any accusations of plotted obsolescence. No lone was forced to upgrade hostile to their will. Do you not know the concept? Is that your problem? Do you reckon that any obsolescence at all, e.g. VHS to DVD, is plotted if a lot of people upgrade?

You’re obtuse to say that. My top was that they don’t get on to CRTs anymore just to get on to crappy LCDs and Plasmas dominant. Why do you reckon analog to digital conversion took house? LCDs were finished, and so were Plasmas in 1997. Next time read my comment before argueing with me.

On top of that, the space and weight CRTs take up in storage makes them ever more pricey when compared to LCD displays.

  19. CrazyHorseInvincible says:

The obsolescence of the CRT was NOT plotted, idiot. CRT monitors producing moving images dates in trade to 1907. For plotted obsolescence, the LCD show should have been already finished by the time Americans had TVs in their living rooms, and plans would have been made to get on to the CRT plot somehow unusable so they would have to buy LCDs. As it is right now, you CAN use a CRT with a state of the art PC, so nothing forces you to “update” to LCD, therefore NO plotted obsolescence.

My top was that Plotted Obsolescence is an American thing that has been adopted by lots of countries now. CRT’s are cheaper than LCD’s. You don’t know what your saying, and you impulsivly replyed to my comment without even reading it carefully. I said right things, if you can’t accept that then you don’t belong in this conversation.

You’re such a complete and utter fucking idiot, I scarcely know where to start.

For starters, the video description says the facility is in Hannover; that’s Germany, fuckwit. Failing that, lone would reckon all the German text in the video would tip you off. Secondly, few business would even consider refurbishing ancient CRTs to ship them overseas when export new LCDs “locally” is cheaper. And lastly, Canada isn’t Utopia; where do you reckon all the ancient monitors in your country go?

    JHC you’re dumb.

What a waste. So many parts may possibly be acually place to use and packaged as new CRT’s for third world countries. It’s like America is the only country in the world. Whatever it says is obsolete, has to apply to the rest of the world even if it isn’t right. To hell with America.
