As of the 1st June residents will be awarded points for the amount of items they recycle. The points, composed through the weighing of wheelie bins at collection, can then be redeemed hostile to the cost of other services, goods to buy or donated to charity.
The new scheme is in conjunction with a company called Recyclebank (who offer a simialar points based system in the US), and also with the council’s contemporary waste contractors Veolia.
