Battery Recycling Legislation Launched
As of the 1st January 2010 new regulations will get on to battery producers legally responsible for funding the collection, treatment and recycling of discarded battery waste.
Under the regulations, producers bringing more than lone tonne of portable batteries onto the market in a calendar year are expected to have signed up to lone of the seven batteries compliance schemes that were approved by the Environment Agency in September 2009.
