Hydrogen Powered CarsWith fuel prices at almost $4 to the gallon, how do you feel about having witnessed prices rise and rise again, up to these astronomical levels? The oil giants are becoming wealthier and wealthier by the day, while you have got to struggle more and more to fill your tank, which you in all probability have to do to put bread on the table. What if there existed another way, a superior way, to power your car or truck?

Because of the potentially harmful impact on oil profits, many promising alternatives have not got beyond the testing phase. A simple peek at the gas gauge is enough to make anybody wish for a more affordable way to run their car. A likely fantasy is cars that run on water – and there have been ads on the web recently for exactly that. A poor joke – or maybe actuality? Actually there are car manufacturers who are working on this possibility, and the future belonging to the automobile is that it may run on hydrogen produced by water.

As we recognize from nature, water is a literal powerhouse, so imagining a car run on the conversion of hydrogen and oxygen through water pressure is not that difficult. Since the public is not aware of cars like this, it seems a fantasy – but don’t be fooled, they exist right now. It required more than twenty years after conception before the electric vehicle came into public use. If today you want the Smart Car of America, which runs on electric energy only, there’s a waiting list of over a year. It’s dead certain that fuel cars undoubtedly are a hangover from the past – people want something else.

Quite some time previously, a conveniently affordable form of energy for cars was petrol, and for homes so was natural gas. Pollution from gas has gotten out of control, while customers of both kinds have had to pay raising prices. Environmentalists get picked on a good deal, however if it wasn’t for their research on emissions, our air would be a lot worse than it is. Despite every one of the insults and taunts thrown at them, these guys stuck to their guns and made sure that we continued to have clean air as well as water. Because of them, gas runs cleaner after ethanol is added to it. However, already astronomical oil prices keep climbing and more has to be done, especially because the majority of our oil is sourced from abroad.

Imagine cutting out oil from abroad entirely, which would be possible if a car that ran on hydrogen and oxygen combustion was successfully designed. Does it appear too good to be real to use common tap water to run your car? Cars which will run on hydrogen are already being experimented on by both Ford and also Chevy. Years into the future, whenever their hydrogen-driven cars are finally launched, the waiting list will probably be miles long.
