Recycle Facts

The life cycle of a can, written, written, shot and directed by me, Merrill Aldighieri, for Sesame Street. Interior design by Adolfo Sanchez, composition by Frederick Reed. I used a 16mm bolex camera to get on to the time-lapse photography in recycling plants. While filming, I uncovered an ironic situation… much of the materials recouperate from the recycling process were being bought by a shell company and dumped in trade into the environment again in a scheme to pressure the city to build a further incinerator system.
